Tome' Cousin and Peter Gregus adapted the June Havoc play Marathon 33. We just recently had the world premiere. As with any new project there are always good/ok/great things that happen along the way. I wish we had another 2 days of tech to work through certain sequences. I know it's always nice to have more time but new works definitely benefit from additional time. There is tremendous heart to this play and I trust the creators have seen the adjustments that will clarify that essence.
..................................... A photo journal of my work
A dear old friend of mine introduced me at a production meeting as "That Famous Polish Lighting Designer" and we all chuckled. During the production the crew gave me a pen/desk set with the engraving TFPLD. As the internet came into popular culture i needed an email addy. I tried 4 different names and on my last chance i looked at my pen/desk set and said of course "TFPLD"

"The Marriage of Figaro" for Pittsburgh Opera 2010
Right before this opera went into production I went through a serious personal family issue. Fortunately I had a lot of support and the director, Kristine McIntyre, and I had worked together before. The set, as originally designed, could be a bit of a hazard but Kristine and I did some work to give us more options for our production. We were quite happy with the results in the end.
"The Barber of Seville" for Pittsburgh Opera 2010
This is a production I did back in the fall of 2010. The director did not agree with the "style" of the set and costumes. He wanted me to "go against" type. That could have been quite dangerous since the scenery has to be lit in a certain way. At times this made some things a little difficult. We still had a great product. There were a lot of funny singers in this production and it made this fun to work on.
