"Below the Belt" for City Theatre 1996
My first conversation with the director, Marc Masterson, was he did not want to do the norm. He said he saw this production like all the colors of an oil slick. Once i heard that i let all inhibitions go. Day was a deep green sky. Night was peachy. Each location had primary red,green,blue and a yellow so that i could "twist" the color of each location. We had a lot of fun working in tech.
"Cenerentola" for PIttsburgh Opera 2002
I was asked to recreate the work of another designer on this production. I did not have any information other than a light plot for the original production which happened at LA Opera. This was a huge set designed by Riccardo Hernandez. It had a white marly floor. The walls of the castle were tufted white satin. The home of cenerentola had almost a full ceiling. I was quite happy with the production. So was the director.

"She Loves Me" for the conservatory 2010
This is such a sweet little show. The production was a success in the end. There were some technical challenges during the techs which made life a little hard at times. 1st preview the show went so smoothly there was a huge sigh of relief.

Lonesome West at The Rep 2011
This play is a very twisted little piece about two brothers relationship. Some would call it "black comedy". I just laugh. The play has mainly one location but there is one scene that takes place exterior. Kim Martin, the director, and I made a choice to place the monologue of the priest in the middle of a "star field". There are some fun special FX's with the props in this play. This was Lindsey Mayer's first design. She was a junior at the time. Nice work!

"Mercy and the Firefly" at The Rep 2011
This was another new play. We did the 2nd production. It has potential but can be a "rough" play to sit through. Steffi Mayer Staley, the set designer, took the first picture. If you did not know this was from a theatrical production you would wonder what the newspaper was trying to document. I am fond of the 4th shot in the post. We are in two basic locations. Interior and exterior. Time of day goes from day to night.
